The latest Chinese aggression against India is yet another reminder of strong India-US ties, top American lawmakers have said.
“China’s most recent aggression in Arunachal Pradesh is yet another reminder of why a strong security partnership with India is crucial to the national security of the United States and our allies,” India Caucus Co-Chairs said in a statement.
“This event marks yet another threat of the People’s Republic of China to the Indian territory, including China’s premeditated aggression on the Line of Actual Control in 2020 which saw the death of approximately 20 Indian troops,” the co-chairs said.
“As co-chairs of the India Caucus, we have worked for years to deepen the US-India bilateral relationship. The India Caucus built on this progress by including the Khanna-Sherman-Schweikert amendment in the House-passed FY23 NDAA, highlighting the immediate and serious regional border threats that India faces from China,” said the statement.

Dear Col Ashok Leekha Sir, You said the Hon’ble Supreme Court directed the Govt of India to take a decision on the Anomalies of OROP in four months’ time and it is a good news. You are a qualified advocate with tons of law practice after your retirement. Govt of India has developed the knack of approaching Hon’ble Supreme Court for seeking extension of time till Mar 2024 to get votes of Ex-Servicemen in the general elections of 2024. When Min of Def went for first extension of time for disbursal of OROP – 2019 arrears, the plea given is “We have all things ready only cabinet approval is required. The papers have gone to Cabinet for approval but the approval is expected any time”. Now I am told they have gone to Hon’ble Supreme Court saying ” Tables are not ready”. That means they lied to the Supreme Court when they sought first extension of three months time. When everything is ready does it not mean even tables are ready, they know the total cash outgo for disbursal of OROP arrears from Jul 2019 to Dec 2022. Then how is that suddenly they found tables are not ready? I am sure with your legal knowledge you can explain to me this riddle. When the committee of Jt Secys have not taken decision from 26 Oct 2016 on the report submitted by Justice L Narasimha Reddy on Anomalies of OROP, do you think they will take a decision in next four months. As you know the report of the committee of jt secys has to go before the Cabinet for approval. Will it all be done in next four months. I have no such confidence! Let us see how many more months extension the Govt of India will now seek? The question you got to ask is : Does the Govt of India has any intention to remove the anomalies in OROP?
f we have to wait till the 2024 Elections to get OROP and DR arrears, by then how may more ESM and widows would have proceeded to the grand Aramgrah Above.The mighty would have to invent a celestial money- gram to pay them in situ.

Pakistan’s restive northwest area saw yet another militant attack on a police post in Peshawar in the early hours on Wednesday, police said.
The incident comes just a day after dozens of armed militants stormed a police station in the South Waziristan district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.
The militants armed with heavy artillery attacked the police post in the Achini area of Peshawar. No casualties have been reported.
The attack is the most recent one in a spate of militant attacks by the infamous terror group- Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), against the security personnel in the KPK province.
In retaliation by the police, the militants fled the scene. Meanwhile, police have been put on very high alert across the province due to recent attacks on police stations by the TTP.
The police officials have said that they are monitoring the situation as the law enforcers are put on high alert to ward off the possibility of such an attack on police in the province.
Earlier, on Tuesday, at least 50 militants stormed a police station in Wana, situated in the tribal district of South Waziristan where the militants opened fire and took away ammunition, weapons, and other equipment
One militant was killed in the retaliatory fire while a constable was injured. The rest managed to flee and a search operation is currently underway.
On Monday, at least four security forces personnel were injured in a suicide attack on a military vehicle in restive northwest Pakistan.
Similarly, on Sunday, militants attacked the Bargai police station in Laki Marwat bordering the south Waziristan tribal district killing at least four policemen while injuring four others.
In a separate incident, Taliban Militants had seized a counter-terrorism centre and took hostages in the Bannu district. Two days later, Pakistan Army’s special forces stormed the centre killing all 33 terrorists. Two commandos were killed while over a dozen were injured during the operation.
Pakistan has seen a significant rise in terror activities since the TTP called an end to its ceasefire with the government.
The TTP, also known as the Pakistan Taliban had announced a ceasefire with the government in June but the attacks on the security forces continued.
The group, which is believed to be close to al-Qaeda, has been blamed for several deadly attacks across Pakistan, including an attack on army headquarters in 2009, assaults on military bases, and the 2008 bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.
