Taranjit Singh Sandhu has ordered the Delhi Police to provide “full security” to a serving Army Brigadier and his family following a violent assault in the Vasant Enclave area.
Incident Details
- Victims: Brigadier Parminder Singh Arora (53) and his son Tejas Arora (23), an IIT graduate.
- The Conflict: The assault occurred on the night of April 11, 2026, after the officer and his son objected to two individuals consuming alcohol in a luxury car parked outside their home.
- The Attack: Approximately 7–8 associates were called to the scene, who then allegedly assaulted the Brigadier and his son for nearly 25 minutes. The officer’s wife was also reportedly threatened and harassed during the incident. thepatriot.in +5
LG’s Intervention and Investigation
- Security Directive: LG Sandhu expressed deep concern and personally spoke with Brigadier Arora to enquire about his well-being. He subsequently directed the Police Commissioner and the DCP to provide full security cover for the family.
- Police Inaction: The intervention followed reports of a 45-hour delay in filing an FIR and allegations that a nearby PCR van failed to intervene during the attack. One police inspector has since been sent to district lines for lapses in the investigation.
- Arrests Made: Two individuals, identified as Satender (alias Sonu) and Sanjay Sharma, have been apprehended. One of the suspects is reportedly a director of a charter aviation firm.
