The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released an animated video titled “Meet Vaayu who helps in resolving queries of children related to Covid and shares healthy tips to defeat #COVID19” to create awareness about the spread of the virus.
For children
- The main character in the video and comic is Superhero Vaayu, who fights for better public health and environment. The video interactively features the comic having information on Covid-19, so that children can understand easily.
The video is themed on a comic, which was published on March 9, titled “Kids Vaayu and Corona: who wins the fight?” by Dr Suman Mor, Associate Professor, and Chairperson, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Dr Ravindra Khaiwal, Additional Professor of Environment Health, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The main character in the video and comic is Superhero Vaayu, who fights for better public health and environment. The video interactively features the comic having information on COVID 19, so that children can understand easily. The short video shows that worried kids call the superhero, Vaayu, and ask him about Covid and its spread. Then, Vaayu educates the kids about the virus, its spread, symptoms and preventive measures.
The motive of these initiatives is to address the panic of Covid-19 pandemic among kids through comics and video cartoons and to encourage the kids and their parents to fight against this pandemic through proper hygiene and preventive measures.
The video is published on the official YouTube channel of Press Information Bureau (PIB), Government of India.
